Chaotic Moon, a startup known for creating fun projects like a virtual shark punching game, has a wide range of applications in mind for the temporary tattoo technology it develops. Called "Tech Tats", they're literally adhesive tattoos that look a little raised against the skin because they contain electronic components, including a microcontroller and LED lights. Company CEO Ben Lamm called them "the new wearable" during his interview with TechCrunch, pointing out that they may be a slightly more permanent version of Fitbit and other fitness trackers. They can, for example, detect if you're stressed, monitor your body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate, and then transmit all that data through their electroconductive paint.

However, it has plenty of other potential uses: you might one day be able to use it to track your child to crowded places and pay for purchases a la Apple or Samsung Pay. Lamm also thinks it could be used by the military to monitor the condition and location of soldiers. At the moment, however, Tech Tats are just a prototype like most high-tech temporary tattoos that other companies and research are developing. They include a team at UC San Diego who created tattoos that turn sweat into electricity, a group of Korean scientists making graphene tattoos, and even Motorola, who are planning to create tattoos. with throat mic.
